It begins with a dream home in an incredible location, nestled at the bottom of a steep slope spanning the bulkhead on the water. Every unique property offers new possibilities of reflection in the landscape.

Run off from the steep slope provided the perfect opportunity to design a dynamic waterway that winds its way under the floating walkway to the front door and to the sound beyond. A family with young children and discerning taste, provided a design challenge to incorporate play into the landscape without compromising the beauty. A boardwalk was designed to wind its way from the deck and dock to a natural stream tucked behind a playfully curved wall. Natural boulders made for climbing without shouting playground. Native grasses were included as well as a sand mulch to complement the beach and water beyond. Hardwood paneling grounded the home which is built on pilings.
